What a summer would it be without a set of crochet bikini? Well, fear no more! Here's a kick ass set designed by the sassiest Queen around Katie aka The Queen Stitch <3 See below for the complete free crochet pattern.
This crochet pattern is for a crochet bikini top and high-waisted bottom. It features crochet lace edges and corset ties. The bikini top is actually reversible and features a corset enclosure that can go in the front or the back. The set was named ‘Bleu’ because it showcases the Rare Creature yarn LOOP, and Bleu is as rare as you can get (get it?!). LOOP is certified organic cotton and contains no chemicals. This pattern features a full photo tutorial with size options for S [M, L].
There are many alterations available for more coverage.

sl st – slip stich
ch- chain stitch
dc – double crochet (uk- treble crochet)
dec- decrease (skip a stitch)
Inc – 2 stitches in one space
**If you’d like a lower waist line, reduce 2-4 rows on each side of the bottom
Foundation Row + Row 1: Tie on with a slip knot and ch 29, insert hook into chain 2 stitches away from end, the first 2 ch will count as the first dc. Dc across (28 total), ch 1, turn
Row 2 – 6 : Dc 27, ch 2, turn
Row 7: 2 dec (skip over two stitches) dc 22, 2 dec, dc1, chain 2, turn - (should have 24 stitches total including 2 ch)
Row 8: 2 dec (skip over two stitches) dc 18, 2 dec, dc1, chain 2, turn - (should have 20 stitches total including 2 ch)
Row 9: 2 dec (skip over two stitches) dc 14, 2 dec, dc1, chain 2, turn - (should have 16 stitches total including 2 ch)
Row 10: 2 dec (skip over two stitches) dc 10, 2 dec, dc1, chain 2, turn - (should have 12 stitches total including 2 ch)
Row 11: Dec (just one) dc 8, dec (just one) dc, ch 2, turn – (should have 10 stitches total)
Row 12: Dec (just one) dc 6, dec (just one) dc, ch 2, turn – (should have 8 stitches total)
Row 13 – 15 : Dc 7, ch 2, turn ch 2 will count as first dc for each row
Row 16: dc in the same stitch as your 2 ch, *ch 6,* 2 dc (10 total)
Row 17 - 26: 2dc and 2dc in the first and last stitch of every row. The first 2dc will be the 2 ch and 1 dc in that same stitch. Repeat until row 26 [row 28 for size L].
Row 27- 34 [L- 36]: dc 28 [30 for size large], ch 1, turn. At the end of row 34 cut and tie off.
**If you’d like more coverage on the back side you can continue to inc on each side of rows 27+ to widen the back.
“Row” 1: With the smaller/front side of the bikini bottom facing you, tie on at the lower left “angle” right where the inc stops. *Dc 2, ch 2, dc 2, ch 2* continue this around the top. At the top corner of the front dc 2, ch 2, dc 2 into the corner space. Repeat from **, then repeat 2dc, ch2, 2dc in the next corner., then repeat from ** until the right ‘angle’. End on 2 dc.
Row 2: Ch 4 then, go back over the lace line, in the space created by the 2 ch of the previous row, 2 dc, then ch 2, skipping over the 2 dc. Continue to 2dc in the spaces and 2 ch over the 2dc. Repeat the 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in each corner. Don’t cut off
Row 3: Start the third row as you did for row 2, go up to the corner and then sc across the top, making sure to 2 sc in the ch spaces. Once you get back to the other corner, go back to the 2 dc, 2 ch. Don’t cut off.
Row 3: Start the third row as you did for row 2, go all the way around with your 2 dc, 2 ch, then stop at the corner but do not cut and tie off.
Instead of cutting off at the end of row 2 (or 3) sc down the side of the piece or the ‘inside of the leg’ to the “angle” on the back.
Repeat rows 1-2.
Sc down the other side of the legs then cut and tie off. Should look like the pic above to the right.
Tassel and ribbon
You will need 6 tassel’s in all and can make them all now. Wrap the yarn around your hand 10-15 times. Cut off. Then take piece of yarn roughly 10 inches long. Tie on 1/3rd of the way down. Wrap until there’s 2 in left. Tie in the back, then pull the knot to the inside with your hook. Trim ends. Repeat 5 more times.
Ribbon: The ribbon is simply ch stitch. The longer your ribbon, the more space between the two sides of the bottom of the bikini, because the bottom itself has been sized previously, most ribbons should be 20-22 in long. Create two of these. Pull through the lace-lines on the side to create a corset-like effect, then when you’re happy, tie the ends on to the tassels. Pull the knot to the inside of the tassel, and trim ends.
Foundation and row 1: Tie on and ch 75 [79, 83] insert your hook 2 stitches away and then dc across (74 [78, 82] in total), ch 2 and turn
Row 2-8 [L-10]: dc 74, ch 2 and turn
**If you’d like a longer top add 2-4 more rows
Row 9: At the end of the last row, turn ch 2, then dc 7 (8 total), ch 2 and turn
Row 10: dec, dc 4, dec, dc 1, ch 2 and turn
Row 11: dec, dc 2, dec, dc 1. Tie and cut off
Row 9: ch 2, then dc 9 (10 in total), ch 2, and turn
Row 10: dec, dc 6, dec, dc 1, ch 2, turn
Row 11: dec, dc 4, dec, dc 1, ch 2, turn
Row 12: dec, dc 2, dec, dc 1, tie and cut off
**The top will become a little vest once the straps are added. Be sure not to twist the chain when making the straps.
Foundation Row: Tie on to the outside of the 4 dc, at the top of the triangle, then ch 44. Sl st to the end of the outside of the 4 dc on the back triangle, turn.
Row 1: 2 dc, 2 ch – continue down the row, at the end of this row sl st to the middle of the 4dc of the triangle. Then slip st 2 to move up to the inside of the 4 dc. Turn
Row 2: 2 dc in the first ch space, then ch 2, 2 dc, and continue to finish the strap. Sl st to finish, then tie off and weave in ends.
Repeat on the other side.
Row 1: Tie on at the upper inside corner on the right side. 2 dc, ch 2 around the side and the bottom finishing at the other side of the vest. Each of the 2 corners should have 2 dc, 2ch, 2 dc. Ch 2 and turn
Row 2: 2 dc, 2 ch to make your lace line as you have before. At the end of the row cut, tie off, and weave in the ends.
Tie on and create a ch ribbon, this one will likely be shorter than the two hip ribbons, around 18 in, though you can make it longer if you like.
Weave the ribbon through to create the corset look. Then tie on to the two remaining tassels.
Et voila! Now you have your reversible bikini top to go with your non-reversible bottoms!
