If there was one thing I learned from years being in design is that you can NOT be afraid of making mistakes (matter of fact this also applies to life because there is no chance of meatball showers in real life). It's the only way you'll create something completely unexpected - the magic happens in the "mistakes" of our lives.
Trying new things may mean making mistakes, but that's the fun part! It's okay to make mistakes. We are not Doctors, no one will die if we made a mistake ( and IF you are a Doctor I hope you understand this only applies to design related projects) Everything is going to be ok... just breath. It's one of the advantages of creating/designing - "mistake" only means a new way of doing things you haven't thought of it before. Enjoy your frustration, it is part of its charm. I remember so vividly one of my old Parsons professors used to say "your experimental process is your happiness - live in it. Enjoy it." Breath life into it. Much like yoga if you ask me, finding comfort in the discomfort you'll be rewarded with peace and happiness. I dare you to give it a go. Do something new. Live a little.

But I have to say the fear never completely disappears, though it's up to us to do the things we want to do anyway even if we were scared. That. My friend takes courage. The good thing is that we all have it, so why not use it? The more you do it, the easier it gets. That is a promise :)
If you don't believe me. There is this book I read recently called Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert who also wrote Eat, Pray, Love. A book and a movie you might have heard of. It was one of the most liberating books I've read in years. It felt like thousands of weights have been lifted from my shoulders. I hope it'll do that for you too. Give a read and let me know your thoughts.
Peace and love,
