The Rare Ones

Once in a blue moon you e-meet someone that is so genuinely real, talented, giving and kind. That someone lucky for us was Tina when we came across her Instagram page a few months ago. We instantly fell in love (HARD) over her patchwork/color combo kimono cardigan. What a BEAUT! If I saw it in person I'd probably drool all over it because it is that yummy and then beg her to sell it to me but I won't be able to afford it as it is truly priceless. I mean how to quantify something that is made with so much love, time and passion? I'm not sure if you can.

You may or may not have seen her other color-block and texture-heavy hand knitted feeds plus the cutest furball of kitty that pops up here and there. Well, this is your chance. Check her out now!  Below are some questions we had the pleasure of asking her. :) Thank you Tina! Also she designed this Between The Lines Cardigan with our LOOP organic cotton yarn that is also pretty drool worthy in our book. ;) Click HERE to see and download the FREE pattern - courtesy of Tina of course.

Lindsay Degen

Lindsay Degen

You may have seen her face on the cover of Knit Wit. She was named 30 under 30 by Forbes 2015. Her knitwear has been worn by the angels during Victoria Secret's annual fashion show. She taught as a knitwear teacher at my alma mater Parsons and the list goes on and on (the last 3 I've only learned 5 minutes prior to writing this btw). This is our Oct's The Rare One - Lindsay Degen. Though I've never met Lindsay in person, through our email exchanges Lindsay comes across as down to earth and humble as they can be. So frankly it is fitting to say I was surprised to learn what success the young designer has already accumulated thus far. <3

Her work speaks for itself - it's whimsical, colorful and most of all happy. Her creations give me a sense of... everything is going to be all right, and we can all use a bit of that reminder on a daily basis. The respect and admiration I have for Lindsay are up there knowing how hard it is to be making a living let alone build a successful business with our creative minds yet she has made it look all rather effortless. So below we asked her some questions and I hope you'll enjoy them.

Chelsea Levinson

Chelsea Levinson

Chelsea and I met at where else but the Vogue Knitting Live in NY this past Jan. :)  We quickly bonded over our fashion design backgrounds and how we felt like we can help more people by bringing that experience into modern DIYs. Also how much we both loved a good neutral color palette and modern designs. We moaned over how hard it is to run and bootstrap a small business in New York but also how rewarding it can be with even the tiniest triumphs. How we felt hand knitting sometimes don't get the credit it deserves as a form of art and creative expression and it was our goal to make shed some light on it. So to all you ladies out there with your dreams and goals and doing your best in making it work, this one is for you - just keep moving forward and you've got this! <3

Oh, so Chelsea runs the subscription knit/crochet kit company called KnitWise at the most accessible price point of $29/month. So pop over and take a peek because quite frankly we don't know where else to get this kind of deal in this day and age. Also, we may or may not have collaborated with her on this month's subscription knit kit. You can sign up to find out by the 18th and let's just say she always delivers, ha!  Here we asked her some questions as we always do and hope you find it helpful on some level and what not. :)
